About Us

The Crooked Goose Bistro opened in 2012 to provide Saanich, and the surrounding communities, with a comfortable and affordable local spot for dining and entertainment.

Whether it’s a nice dinner with visiting relatives in the bistro, watching the game in the lounge, a pint at the bar, or a Saturday morning Americano we’ve got you covered, 7 days a week.

Steve Watson, Proprietor / Co-Owner

As with many local Victorians, origins begin in the East. Steve began his restaurant career as a teenaged busboy in Toronto, before graduating through the ranks as he moved West. After a 3 year stopover in Jasper, he landed on the Island, taking up a position with the Moxie’s management team. His next challenge brought him to a fledgling dynamo, Brasserie L’Ecole, where he flourished for 8 years. In 2010, Steve joined his partner Gina Basra at the acclaimed Italian establishment Zambri’s. Having fostered a friendship and mutual respect with Heron Rock Bistro’s Moffatt and Peterson over the previous decade, a business partnership proved a natural transition.
